Project Overview

People save recipes, places, and products on Instagram intending to act on them, but those saves pile up in an unorganized saved section and rarely get revisited. I researched how people save content and why they don't go back, then designed a reminder feature that brings them back on the day they're available to act.

Challenge

How might we bring people back to what they saved at the moment they're actually free to act on it?

Research

5 interviews with working adults who save content

Insights

Saving feels like progress, so nothing prompts a return

opportunity

Let users set a reminder for when they're free, not only when they save.

user flow

This flow allows users to add a reminder of a reel for them to remember what is saved

Wireframes & testing

V1 - too much to fill out and reminds me on an alarm

Final - this is simple and easy to use

Testing

How would this feature fit into the way you currently use Instagram?

P1 - I would definitely use this since I save content for makeup and I end up forgetting.

P2 - I would be using this more frequently and finding more events in my community to remind myself.

P3 - comes in handy as an alarm clock, set up time and thank you for reminding me

P4 - I would get a lot of reminders and use reels more often.

P5 - I would actually use this on my days off when I have some time off.

Iterations

Notification Alert - Removed the snooze and x since they wanted a preview of the reel

Final Solution

A reminder that brings people back to saved content on the day they're free to act.

Users are able to add a reminder to their saved content

Allows users to see all their reminders saved overtime
